Message from director Kurihara Yoshihide Director AMURT Japan started as amember of AMURT international which has been doing emergency and humanitarian aid for more than 24 years. We take the priority of the most vulnerable people such as victims of natural disasters and starving children. We do grass roots aids continuously. We think the poverties in developing countries as our own problems and feel responsible to solve the problems. We believe that the world is going to be a happier place if the extreme poverty in the world is eradicated. We would like to share the happiness with you. About AMURT Japan AMURT Japan was established in 2003 with support of AMURT International. As a new association, AMURT Japan will be able to benefit from the offer of the "sponsor organisation" for the first few years. AMURT (International) has stated its intention to help set up the association in Japan and to assist with fundraising, administration and project management. For example, AMURT(International) can take responsibility for project management (although the Japanese association is, of course, still responsible for project supervision), as the Federation has an appropriate, efficient infrastructure. As a member of AMURT (International), however, Japan has complete freedom in the selection and financing of projects. The advantage of Japanﾕs membership of AMURT (International) is the fact that it will have access to partners and members who are experts with experience in development cooperation and disaster relief. Quality and transparency are important at AMURT. This has been a major priority right from the start. No payments in kind are made. Thanks to our ﾓsponsor organisation", AMURT Japan will not have to pay any additional manpower or infrastructure costs during its setup period. Aims and objectives: The purpose of this association shall be to engage in disaster relief operations and humanitarian relief activities as well as sustainable development (to support underprivileged people and to relieve the hardship of those who have been suffering). In order to achieve these aims and objectives, the association shall conduct the following nonprofit activities: Activities aimed at promoting the preservation of health, medical care and welfare Activities aimed at promoting social education Activities aimed at preserving the environment Activities aimed at promoting economic development Activities relating to disaster relief operations Activities relating to international cooperation
